We will collect personal data including your name, contact details (such as phone number, email address, K number, or social media handle), any submitted files which may have been your creation (like headshots and graphics), and any additional personal data you choose to contribute.
 

What will we do with your personal information?
KCL Radio will use the personal data provided exclusively for the purposes of our programmes, digital and social media platforms, and as a means of contact if we need to get back to you.
 

While we may feature your contribution in our programmes or content, we cannot guarantee that every submission will be used. Your contribution might appear on our online platforms or on KCL Radio’s social media pages. If broadcast, it may also be reused in future broadcasts.
 

KCL Radio is the ‘data controller’ of the personal information you provide. This means that we determine how your personal information is used and processed. The legal basis for processing your data is our legitimate interest in creating journalistic content. We will carefully consider and balance our interests in processing your data against any potential impact on your individual rights and freedoms, and we will not use your personal information if the impact outweighs our interests.
 

How long will we keep your personal information?
For editorial purposes, we will retain your contact details for up to nine months. Content not used on air or on our digital platforms will be deleted after nine months. Broadcast or published content will be archived for 7 years. Broadcast materials, such as videos and voice recordings, will be kept in the KCL Radio Archives for historical record purposes.
 

Who will we share your information with?
We will not share your data or contributions with any third parties without your consent. Contributions sent to KCL Radio through third-party social media services, messaging services, or email are also subject to the terms and privacy policies of those services. Please refer to their privacy policies for information on how they process your data and their retention practices.
